Short: Requester animations for ReqAttack
Author: lehtom@sci.fi (Miikka Lehto)
Uploader: lehtom@sci.fi
Type: gfx/misc
Requires: ReqAttack
Distribution: Freely Distributable
General
14 different cool (??) animations for ReqAttack. 32
color versions for AGA only users. 64 color versions
for graphics card users or AGA users, who have
maybe 128 color WB in use. ReqAttack can re-map
colors if you have only 64 colors in use (with couple
of locked colors), but never tested this. Not big
difference between 32 and 64 colors anyway. Some
anims are more or less ugly with 32 colors, but overall
32 colors is enought. All animations are in two different
size. 62 and 82 pixels or 82 and 102 pixels, depends
of complexity of it. Choose you own. All animations
created with Amiga.
reqattack.prefs file is included. Paste it to you own prefs
file or replace original with it.
This package is freeware. If you edit them (better dithering
etc...) and spread them, include my name somewhere.
Suggestions, comments and new ideas are more than
welcome.
Installation
Copy 64col or 32col drawer contents (or both...) to
ReqAttack/Animlogos
Tips
When you test these animations, test them in practice !!
Multiview with reqattack datatypes gives very poor quality
(with my machine...). You get real quality only in practice !!
Seems, that 060 processor is enought fast to play even
120*120 pixel animation. If it looks like, that you processor
cannot play maybe 82 pixel animation well, you can do
something like this... convert ReqAttack AnimBrush to
ReqAttack brush-file with RAIM_Anim2brush. Now you get
file, where all frames are in one big picture. CyberShow
can read it, then save it as 24 bit IFF-picture. Resizing
with only 32 or 64 colors gives bad result. Now you can
resize it with ImageFX or similar tool to suitable size. After
resizing convert picture to colormapped. Be sure, that
used software saves colormapped picture with 64 or 32
color palette, not with 256 color palette, as IFX 3.3 do.
IFX 4.1 makes that right. Now save it as IFF and convert
it with RAIM_Convert tool. RAIM_Anim2IFF makes picture
straight to IFF, but not works in my computer anyway. With
256 color palette animation takes more room from hard disk
and therefore takes more time to load.
Consult ReqAttack help-files, before you use it's tools.
Thanks
Specially to Georg Steger, author of ReqAttack. Now it is
possible to use animations in amigas requesters. And use
requesters straight from keyboard. Great package overall !
And thanks to whole amiga community of course.
Animations:
- boing_info ,global animation for global message-requesters
- delete ,for delete requesters
- exclamanation ,very basic rotating exclamanation mark
